Interim Choir Director & Organist or Pianist - St. Luke's Episcopal Church

St. Luke’s / San Lucas Episcopal Church, a multicultural, multi-language, and vibrant urban church located in downtown Long Beach, is seeking for an interim choir director to share in leadership of a resourced, vital urban parish.  A recent survey demonstrates that our congregation enjoys a balance between traditional Episcopal/ Anglican church music, and sacred music from a variety of cultural and contemporary traditions. Anthems have ranged from Morten Laudrisen, Ola Gjeilo, and Bob Chilcott.  This is a temporary position (at least 2 months), while we start the search for a permanent music director.  The choir director will work with a choir of 3 paid soloist, and dedicated volunteers, focusing on the Sunday morning English worship (10 am).   The interim director will collaborate with the director of music from the Spanish services to perform collaboratively once per month at our bilingual services.   SCHEDULE, SALARY, AND BENEFITS: this is a temporary position, that required on campus presence for choir rehearsal and Sunday worship.  The compensation rate is $ 500 per service.  HOW TO APPLY We encourage applications from all people, including women, persons of color, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, nonbinary and genderfluid persons.
