JOHN TEBAY began his career as Minister of Music and Worship at Calvary Church of Placentia, California, USA, where he directed the music program for 17 years. Since that time John has enjoyed serving in worship and music for Vineyard Anaheim, Vineyard Community Church, Laguna Niguel, Crystal Cathedral, and the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton.
In 1981, he became the Choral Director at El Dorado High School in Placentia, California. He has been Director of Choral Activities at Fullerton College in Southern California since 1985. During that time, he has conducted the 110-voice Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, the Collegiate Chorale, the Men’s Chorale, the Women’s Chorale, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the song and dance troupe, Bravo.
In December 2021, John retired from his position of Director of Choral Activities and Dean of Fine Arts at Fullerton College. He is currently interim Director of Voice and Opera and conducts the University Chorus at the Biola University Conservatory of Music; and he is the interim conductor of the Mount San Antonio College Concert Choir. In his free time, he enjoys music directing for the Riverside City College Musical Theatre Program.
John’s choirs have performed for ACDA, NCCO, CASMEC, and MENC Choral Conventions. Other performances include local, national and international engagements.
John enjoys composing and arranging choral music for all academic levels, school and church programs, both traditional and contemporary. His published titles are available through Pavane Publishing and Alliance Music Publications.

Meet Our Representative
Dr. Kellori Dower
Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, Cypress College
Representative, Southern Section of CCDA
Dr. Kellori Dower is the Dean of Visual and Performing Arts at Cypress College in Cypress, California. She was the director of two award-winning high school choral music programs prior to serving as Director of Choral Activities at the collegiate level. Past appointments have also included High School Principal, Asst. Principal and District Arts Administrator positions.
She was the 2016 recipient of the Outstanding Music Educator Award for the California Music Educators Association Southeastern section. Artistically, she has written several choral works including performances of her music with the San Diego Symphony and publication with Hal Leonard. Her choral ensembles have performed in some of the most distinguished venues in the country, including Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and New York’s Lincoln Center. Dr. Dower is an active choral adjudicator and clinician and has conducted All-State and regional High School Honor ensembles across the U.S. She is the immediate past-president of the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO) and is a member of the California Arts Council grant review committee. Dr. Dower also serves as the Southern Section Representative with the California Choral Directors Association (CCDA) and also teaches on the graduate faculty at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. Her work and research regarding culture and music lead to the creation of collegiate courses in Rap and Hip Hop, Gospel Music and African-American folk compositions. She is a proud mom of four, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a former mellophone player and drummer in the Marching Storm Band at Prairie View A & M University. |
