Greetings, Colleagues! I’m thrilled to be serving as your Bay Area California Choral Directors Association Region Representative! I am a conductor, teacher, singer, and choral facilitator who lives and works in the Bay. I recently moved here from Boulder, and was born in Michigan. I see my role here as connector and instigator with our awesome Bay choral community. Throughout the year, I’ll be in touch via email about various events and information, including: Meet-ups | These range from backyard hangs to meeting up at various restaurants or outdoor venues to network, share ideas, and yes, sometimes we just need to vent about how beautifully challenging conducting and teaching choir is. Always feel free to invite a friend - our events are *not* member-only! Resources | I’ll share repertoire and CCDA resources that you might find useful. Connection | I’m very happy to be a thread that helps you network, and would love to be connected to you as I’m still meeting Bay Area folx as well. This is great if you’re a new-er director, a new-to-California director, a new choir director, or if you are someone who feels isolated and would simply like to find deeper community. Conferences | There are so many opportunities for learning: regional, state, and national conferences. If these deem inaccessible for you or someone you know, please reach out: there are scholarships and funding for conference attendance. Singing opportunities for your singers | Please encourage your singers to audition for our honor choirs. These are mountaintop experiences that I only wish I had as a young person! We have lots of scholarships available if cost is an issue for your singers. News | Let me know about events or exciting things you’re doing with your ensembles!
