Job Description
• Lead rehearsals for a group of 20-25 adult participants (mostly non-singers).
• Teach and prepare the choir to perform “The Impossible Dream” with confidence and cohesion.
• Arrange or adapt the piece as needed for the group’s vocal range and abilities.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and focused rehearsal environment.
• Collaborate with the director and production team to align musical preparation with filming needs.
• Help shape the emotional arc of the performance through musical direction.
• Prepare the group for a live outdoor performance (courthouse steps setting).
• Participate in filmed rehearsals and behind-the-scenes moments.
• Be available for interviews reflecting on the process, including: the musical challenges of working with non-singers the emotional dynamics of the group the progression and transformation of the choir over time.
• Serve as both a musical leader and a visible part of the film’s narrative.

Applicant Requirements/Qualifications
• Experience directing choirs, vocal ensembles, or community singing groups.
• Strong ability to teach beginners and non-professional singers.
• Background in vocal coaching, music education, or choral conducting.
• Ability to adapt music arrangements to fit diverse vocal abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfort working within a documentary film environment (cameras present during rehearsals and interviews).
