Job Description
FCCNH is looking for a talented, caring, and experienced Music Director to lead our music program. Our ideal candidate will be well-educated in choral and other styles of Christian music, an accomplished musician, and an excellent teacher and communicator. We seek a person who is Christian and interested in programming liturgical music in coordination with the Senior Pastor to create interesting and moving worship experiences.  The ideal Music Director will be organized, personable, and able to interact with a large music community made up of both professional and non-professional musicians.

Applicant Requirements/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in music, preferably choral conducting, from an accredited college or university, Master’s degree preferred
• Excellent choral and instrumental conducting skills
• Basic keyboard proficiency
• Strong community-building and leadership qualities
• Ability to teach some basic theory and vocal technique as part of rehearsal sessions
• Ability to balance fun and a sense of humor with the work of each rehearsal and performance

NUUC is hiring a .75 Music Director starting summer 2026. This person will work closely with the Senior Minister to create Sunday morning worship services. Additional requirements include strong choral leadership and administrative duties (supervise other staff). Applications due May 20, 2026.

Applicant Requirements/Qualifications
• Credentialing, advanced degree, or extensive experience in music (shared ritual, congregational singing, chorus, directing)
• Experience in leading music in a medium to large congregation with familiarity with traditional choral repertoire
• Knowledge of current trends of Unitarian Universalist music, and flexibility to try/teach new music
