ANTHONY E. ARNOLD
Instrumental & Choral Director, Miller Middle School
Anthony E. Arnold has been teaching instrumental and choral music for twenty-seven years. He started his teaching career in the suburb of Elmhurst, Illinois at Timothy Christian Schools from 1995-1997 after graduating cum laude with a degree in music education from Azusa Pacific University. He was in charge of all instrumental music, grades five through twelve. Two years later, Mr. Arnold moved to Northern California, settling in San Jose. He taught five years at Valley Christian Schools heading up the high school vocal music department. His groups attended numerous vocal jazz festivals throughout California and Nevada receiving numerous awards and superior ratings. After Valley Christian Schools, Mr. Arnold focused his attention to middle school choral music at Miller Middle School in the Cupertino Union School District. Mr. Arnold transformed a non-existent vocal music program in 2002 to a program, since 2005, that has received no rating less than superior at any festival they have attended. Mr. Arnold’s groups have performed for the ACDA National Conference, the ACDA Western Regional Conference, CCDA State Conference, Davis Symphony Hall, the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, OH, and Carnegie Hall, twice.
Mr. Arnold has worked for the San Jose Jazz Society teaching vocal jazz at their summer jazz camp and The Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose as instrumental and vocal music directors for the shows Tommy, Godspell, and High School Musical. Currently Mr. Arnold enjoys playing piano for his church as well as subbing as trumpet player for the ministry, 1Voice Band, ministering to churches and prisons throughout Northern California. Most importantly, Mr. Arnold enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Cassie. |
